What we want
The Research Associate plays an integral role in advancing public health research projects with an emphasis on program planning, program evaluation, qualitative and mixed-methods data management, and community-based research. Prepares proposals and reports for funding agencies, engaging with partner organizations, and supporting research staff. Leads data collection activities and assists with preparation of annual performance reports for projects related to health across the lifespan, including adolescent health and healthy aging.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.
+ Two years of professional research experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Master’s Degree in related field (e.g. public health, health education, health promotion, or other related fields).
+ Three years or more related professional experience.
+ Program management coursework or experience
+ Program planning coursework or experience
+ Program evaluation coursework or experience
+ Experience conducting human-subjects research.
+ Experience with community-engaged research and evaluation projects.
+ Experience developing and utilizing online survey tools and software.
+ Experience in writing grant proposals.
+ Qualitative data experience (collecting and analyzing)
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Desire and ability to work collaboratively and help maintain a fun and supportive team environment that is focused on advancing our work to effectively address health disparities for underserved populations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software to create databases, present data and perform other computer related tasks.
+ Ability to work cooperatively with others.
+ Ability to conduct literature reviews and assist in academic writing (such as conference abstracts, presentations, and articles for publication)
Responsibilities
Conducts Research
+ Designs, plans, and coordinates social science research studies, including program planning and evaluation activities.
+ Develops and implements qualitative and mixed-methods research protocols (e.g., interviews, focus groups, surveys), ensuring ethical and rigorous data collection.
+ Collaborates with partner organizations, community stakeholders, and research teams to co-develop research priorities, ensure successful implementation of project activities, and ensure findings are relevant and actionable.
+ Develops online tools, including surveys tools to collect qualitative and quantitative data.
+ Manages and supports analyzing qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate software and techniques (such as Qualtrics and REDCap); maintain organized and secure data records.
Disseminates Research Findings
+ Summarizes and disseminates results in peer-reviewed publications, policy briefs, reports, and presentations tailored to academic, community, and practitioner audiences.
+ Assists in preparing and writing proposals (and reports) to funding agencies.
+ Supervises undergraduate and/or graduate students and research assistants involved in qualitative data collection, analysis, and program evaluation projects.
Capacity Building and Research Events
+ Supports capacity-building activities with partner organizations, such as workshops, training, and dissemination events.
+ Coordinates research learning events and other activities to enhance the culture of research.
