The Submittals Manager is responsible for overseeing the creation, review, and approval of engineering submittals for industrial generator projects. This role ensures that all submittal packages meet customer specifications, regulatory codes, and internal quality standards. The Submittals Manager collaborates closely with sales, engineering, fabrication, and vendor teams to deliver accurate and timely documentation that supports successful project execution.
Major Responsibilities
+ Lead the development of project-specific submittal packages, including drawings, BOMs, and compliance documentation
+ Review and approve submittals prepared by internal teams and third-party vendors
+ Respond to customer feedback and coordinate revisions to ensure timely approval
+ Attend customer meetings to support submittal discussions and approvals
+ Ensure all submittals comply with engineering specifications, codes, and Generac installation standards
+ Coordinate with procurement and fabrication teams to align submittals with equipment orders
+ Maintain accurate records of submittal status and approvals throughout the project lifecycle
+ Provide technical support to sales and project teams during pre-sale and execution phases
+ Collaborate with engineering to resolve technical issues and ensure design integrity
+ Support project closeout by ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant
+ Additional duties as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
+ Strong understanding of electrical power systems and generator applications
+ Ability to read and create engineering drawings and wiring diagrams
+ Expertise in regulatory and code compliance for industrial installations
+ Excellent communication skills for customer and cross-functional collaboration
+ Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
+ Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
+ Proficiency in project documentation tools and CAD software
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience
+ 3–5 years of experience in industrial power systems or generator applications
+ Strong understanding of submittal processes and project documentation standards
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Certification as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
+ Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software
+ Knowledge of generator control systems and interconnection requirements
**Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
