    TITLE: Accounts Payable Lead QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field (or equivalent experience)

    + Strong knowledge of accounts payable

    + Proficient in account software, financial reporting and Microsoft Office Applications

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

    REPORTS TO: Business Manager PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Review, verify and process incoming invoices for accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.

    + Prepare and process all invoices and payables in a timely manner.

    + Create, monitor and close purchase orders in the financial software.

    + Add and maintain vendor records in the financial software.

    + Manage the issuance and tracking of 1099 forms; ensure vendors are correctly classified and that forms are distributed in accordance with IRS deadlines.

    + Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, required documentation and compliance matters.

    + Add and maintain account codes in the accounting system according to the Iowa Department of Education's Uniform Chart of Accounts.

    + Pull weekly Medicaid service reports and allocate reimbursements to the correct accounts.

    + Maintain and process biannual nonpublic transportation claims in accordance with state and Department of Education guidelines.

    + Utilize the InTouch system to manage, update, and reconcile student fees, fines, and payments across all district buildings.

    + Generate and distribute monthly reminders to parents/guardians regarding outstanding student fees and fines.

    + Enter mass fees and fines into the system in accordance with district guidelines and timelines.

    + Provide assistance with Absence Management as needed.

    + Support the Business Manager in preparing various financial statements and reports.

    + Assist with annual audits and reports.

    + Operate as part of a dynamic team, providing exceptional customer service and responsiveness to various stakeholders.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.
