Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a personable, analytical, detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a Non-Profit client in Yaphank, Long Island. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in recording banking activity and processing payments. This role involves managing banking transactions, preparing journal entries, and utilizing advanced Excel skills to ensure accuracy in all financial activities.

As the Staff Accountant, you will:

• Record and monitor daily banking transactions to ensure accurate financial tracking.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting, including advanced formulas and functions.

• Open and close bank accounts as needed to align with organizational requirements.

• Process payments promptly and accurately to maintain smooth financial operations.

• Prepare journal entries with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

• Collaborate with the team to oversee trust accounting and related financial activities.

• Maintain organized records for all cash activity, ensuring transparency and accessibility.

• Assist in resolving discrepancies in financial data through thorough investigation and reconciliation.

• Support audits and provide necessary documentation as requested.

Requirements

• Proficiency in preparing journal entries and maintaining detailed financial records.

• Strong knowledge of cash activity and banking transaction processes.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
