    Job Title: Mechanical Project Engineer

    Job Description

    The Mechanical Project Engineer will engage primarily in brainstorming and concepting for material handling equipment projects. The role focuses on working in 3D environments, particularly with Configura software, to design conveyor systems and ensure integration with existing machinery. This position involves experimental design work, simulation testing in CAD, and collaboration with drafting teams for final detailing.

    Responsibilities

    + Design material handling equipment such as conveyor belts and other machinery.

    + Add capacity to sites, retrofit areas for new equipment, and rearrange existing facility equipment.

    + Determine site layouts and develop the scope of work for projects.

    + Write RFPs, collaborate with vendors for site selection, and oversee engineering design through to execution.

    + Manage project timelines from concept to RFP within approximately four weeks, including defining inputs, site visits, model development, writing specifications, and vendor selection.

    + Travel up to 20% for site visits to ensure project alignment.

    Essential Skills

    + Hands-on design experience in a manufacturing setting.

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD and Solidworks.

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, industrial, electrical, or manufacturing).

    + 5-7 years of experience in manufacturing or industrial designs.

    + Project management skills.

    + Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in design engineering, automation, and material handling.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience with upstream/downstream system engineering.

    + Ability to add capacity or retrofit areas for new equipment.

    + Background in various design fields such as automotive, warehouse systems, or manufacturing is advantageous.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $65.00/hr.
