Description

Accounts Payable Manager opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reimbursements while maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, advanced technical accounting knowledge, and a proactive approach to driving process improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and mentor the Accounts Payable team, fostering growth and ensuring high performance.

• Manage the distribution of daily workloads and monitor team productivity and accuracy.

• Oversee all aspects of accounts payable operations, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and employee expense reimbursements.

• Ensure proper invoice coding and adherence to the three-way match process involving purchase orders, invoices, and receipts.

• Support month-end and year-end financial close activities by preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and addressing inquiries.

• Lead initiatives to streamline and automate accounts payable processes, leveraging existing systems and tools.

• Partner with Procurement, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve invoice discrepancies and improve workflows.

• Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance within the accounts payable function.

• Provide support for ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special projects as needed.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years in an accounting supervisory role or 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.

• Proven track record in managing accounts payable functions in mid-to-large organizations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions.

• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or similar platforms.

• Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and internal control frameworks.
