    Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer Job Description

     

    We are seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to design and customize Linux board support packages (BSP). This role primarily focuses on bootloaders, including U-Boot, and the Linux kernel for Yocto and Buildroot based distributions.

    Responsibilities

    + Design and customize Linux board support packages (BSP).

    + Focus on bootloaders including U-Boot and the Linux kernel.

    + Collaborate with engineers from multiple engineering disciplines.

    + Engage in all aspects of product design, including requirements documentation, system architecture, design for manufacturing, design for test, and design verification.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with embedded systems and microprocessor-based (MPU) design.

    + Proficiency in firmware and embedded software development.

    + Knowledge of Linux and embedded Linux.

    + Familiarity with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in design for manufacturing and design verification.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team environment with engineers from various disciplines.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working in a collaborative engineering environment, focusing on the development and customization of Linux board support packages. The position requires interaction with cross-disciplinary engineering teams to ensure comprehensive product design and implementation.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eden Prairie, Minnesota.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00/hr.
