Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Rock Hill, South Carolina for 4-5 months. This contract position offers an opportunity to handle a variety of accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate will excel in data accuracy, organization, and communication while supporting the financial operations of the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile regular and checking accounts to ensure accurate financial records.

• Post tenant payments to accounts receivable and generate detailed reports for review.

• Prepare bank deposits related to tenant accounts and verify the accuracy of transactions.

• Review, code, and process invoices for payment, ensuring proper approvals and ledger assignments.

• Balance statements, reconcile accounts, and transfer funds between accounts as required.

• Process accounts payable edits, manual checks, and data entry for invoices.

• Issue accounts payable checks and prepare them for mailing.

• Create tenant rent statements and generate late charge letters on a monthly basis.

• Monitor and follow up on past-due accounts, including sending correspondence and filing warrants as needed.

• Assist in preparing tax documents such as IRS Form 1099 and compile information for financial drawdown requests.

Requirements • Proficiency in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.

• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software.

• Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail.

• Ability to process invoices and manage financial transactions accurately.

• Familiarity with preparing bank deposits and reconciling accounts.

• Knowledge of tenant payment systems and collections processes.

• Effective communication skills for interacting with tenants and team members.

• Capacity to handle bookkeeping tasks and support audits as needed.
