Description
We are looking for a Manager of Meetings & Member Services to join an international trade association based in Washington, District of Columbia. This newly created position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee event planning and member services, working closely with sponsors and participants. The role involves managing a variety of in-person and virtual events, ensuring smooth operations and impactful experiences.
Responsibilities:
• Plan and organize a diverse range of events, including webinars, conferences, seminars, and briefings, both locally and internationally.
• Coordinate event logistics, such as speaker arrangements, presentation materials, and deadlines, to ensure seamless execution.
• Utilize web-based tools to develop and maintain detailed project plans, tracking event specifics and ensuring timelines are met.
• Manage venue selection and supplier coordination to align with event specifications and organizational needs.
• Oversee budgeting and financial tracking for events, monitoring expenses, reporting variances, and ensuring timely payment of invoices.
• Draft comprehensive meeting specifications and communicate requirements to venues and suppliers.
• Support sponsor engagement and participant communications to foster meaningful connections and successful events.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards during event planning and execution.

Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in event planning or conference management, preferably within a trade association.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Stable employment history with a demonstrated ability to deliver results.
• Familiarity with virtual and in-person event coordination.
• Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills.
