    This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.

     

    This position is responsible for professional scoping, professional architectural design and advance construction project management activities required to support the design, repair and ongoing preservation of MnDOT facilities.

     

    You will scope MnDOT district headquarters, maintenance sites and special service sites for future projects, ranging from individual buildings to full campuses; provide management of consultant architect contracts to provide oversight and to coordinate the State’s review of their work to assure their work complies with architectural judgment and ensure contract documents are in compliance with building codes and Minnesota State Statutes; provide construction administration oversight of the consulting architect of record and the construction contractors to provide direction during construction and to represent the State in all matters related to the construction phase of the project.

     

    MnDOT does not sponsor applicants for visas or Optional Practical Exam for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Licensed as a professional Architect with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design.

     

    Three years of post-licensure, professional architectural experience in preparation of final contract documents and cost estimates/management AND direct inspection and management of construction projects both with a minimum of 5 projects at or above $500,000 in construction value that include: architectural, mechanical, and electrical systems.

    AND have the following experience:

    + **Knowledge of the principals and practices of architecture sufficient to direct and approve design, development and production of plans and specifications;**

    + **Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and structural engineering sufficient to review projects and plans and provide direction to professional staff on changes and modifications;**

    + **Ability to troubleshoot complex architectural assignments sufficient to direct and advise consultants and contractors in the administration of construction contracts;**

    + **Advanced knowledge of building codes, ADA, and environmental laws;**

    + **Valid drive’s license.**
