Responsibilities
The primary goal of this position is to support work teams, project teams and Business Development staff and leaders in their efforts to develop new business opportunities for Mayo Clinic, including but not limited to investments, partnerships, joint ventures, new company spin-offs, mergers and acquisitions, and other relationship structures. A primary focus will be performing duties in support of work specific to the Florida campus. In addition, the position may support licensing teams and/or individuals in their efforts to identify, develop and help source new technology commercialization opportunities.: Key job duties will focus on financial modelling, financial pro-forma development and analysis, business model development, statistical market research and analysis, and related due diligence activities. This role will also be responsible for creating and developing presentations, tables, spreadsheets, report documents, and other material related to the work of the department. This role will also assist with project management, scheduling, process tracking, document collation and maintenance, and other duties needed related to the work of the department.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business/Healthcare Administration, or a directly related major, and/or must have had a focus or concentration in one of these or related areas. Work experience demonstrating capabilities in the duties cited in the Position Overview will be regarded favorably. Must demonstrate the ability to perform successfully in a professional business development role, and to successfully partake in required complex inter- and intra-organizational issues and relationships. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a variety of different people with diverse backgrounds. Requires strong project management skills, time management skills and the ability to manage several initiatives simultaneously. Must be resourceful and be able to work independently on assigned projects. Demonstration of strong financial modeling and analytical skills, (e.g., work experience, Chartered Financial Analyst certification [complete or in progress], or other financial or accounting certifications, etc.), and/or of entrepreneurial qualities or experience will be regarded favorably.
