Robert Half Finance and Accounting and Kevin Sweet are proud to partner with a well-established manufacturing company that has been in business for over 40 years and is currently undergoing exciting growth. To support this expansion, the company is hiring a newly created Assistant Controller to strengthen its accounting team and play a key role in financial operations, reporting, and system transformation.

The Assistant Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger activities, financial reporting, cost accounting, and compliance. This role is also central to a major ERP system upgrade and will collaborate across departments to improve processes and drive financial insight. Key Responsibilities

+ Lead daily accounting functions: journal entries (including payroll-related), reconciliations, accruals, and account analysis

+ Manage timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes

+ Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes

+ Prepare and review financial statements, budget variance reports, and cash flow statements

+ Oversee cost accounting for manufacturing and supply chain processes

+ Monitor raw material costing, BOM validations, freight/logistics costs, and inventory analysis

+ Collaborate with operations to analyze trends, identify variances, and improve efficiency

+ Support the development of decision-support tools for cross-functional teams

+ Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and tax regulations

+ Support audit processes and proactively improve internal controls

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, supply chain or logistics environment.

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.

• Experience in managing accounts payable and receivable operations.

• Proficiency in month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to prepare and analyze financial reports and budgets.

• Familiarity with system implementation and integration processes.

• Certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred but not required.
