    Description and Requirements

     

    The Lenovo quality team is seeking an entry-level Software Customer Quality Engineer for ThinkPad Notebook and other PC devices. In this position, you will be performing failure analysis on customer defects, issue resolution, and implementing future product improvements. If you are passionate about debugging software/OS issues, solving complex problems, and are not afraid to pick up a screwdriver and crack open a mystery, we want to talk to you!

    Responsibilities:

    + Perform failure analysis of product defects by using AI-enhanced technologies to investigate problems

    + Collaborate on defect resolution with product owners

    + Drive future product improvements and innovations in AI

    + Perform onsite customer investigation as needed

    + Investigate software image compatibility and deployment issues including, but not limited to: Windows OS, applications, drivers, firmware, BIOS, remote deployment, networking, system performance, & benchmarking

    Basic Requirements:

    + Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

    + Basic understanding of PC hardware architecture (CPU, memory, storage, peripherals).

    + Familiarity with Windows OS installation, configuration, and driver management.

    + Ability to work in a lab environment and handle hardware safely and effectively.

    + Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer. We are unable to sponsor work visas for this position.

    Preferred Requirements:

    + Exposure to device drivers and their role in hardware functionality.

    + Experience with external device connectivity (USB, HDMI, docking stations).

    + Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++, PowerShell).

    + Understanding of basic electronics and signal flow.

     

    This is a lab-based position located in Morrisville, NC. Onsite presence is required 5 days per week. The target start date will be Fall 2025.
