    We seek an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Podiatry Department a Division of Orthopedics in the Outpatient & Inpatient setting.

     

    The APP will be supporting the podiatry department in outpatient clinic, assisting in management of inpatient, and assisting in surgery in the inpatient and outpatient setting. This is a specialized care position focusing on foot and ankle health. There will be no weekend coverage. New grads and experienced providers encouraged to apply.

    Additional responsibilities include:

    + **Conservatively managing foot and ankle orthopedic conditions**

    + **Managing diabetic foot conditions including wound care**

    + **Referring to necessary multi-disciplinary teams when needed both inpatient and outpatient**

    + **Completing in office bedside procedures (ex: wound debridements, nail removals, injections, wart treatments, wound vac applications)**

    + **Assisting in managing admitted patients in the hospital setting**

    + **Functioning in a supportive role to provide optimum care to surgical patients.**

    + **Work in conjunction with an additional APP to ensure surgical case coverage**

    + **Upholding the standards of the system-wide customer service program**

    Required:

    MSN Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program. Have current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio and Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing. Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.

     

    Physician Assistant graduated from an accredited PA program with certification to practice by the NCCPA and active licensure to practice in Ohio by the State Medical Board of Ohio.

     

    Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire. Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to the Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges. Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.
