Job Title : Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (or Psychiatrist)

Job Overview :

The psychiatric nurse practitioner performs psychiatric evaluations and provides ongoing medication management .

Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities :

+ Determine a diagnosis, develop a treatment plan and measure progress against the plan, making adjustments as needed

+ Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications

+ Order and interpret laboratory tests

+ Consult with patients’ primary care physicians to coordinate care

+ Partner with other members of the care team (e.g., nurse, medical assistant, social worker )

+ Complete all EHR documentation and administrative tasks in a n accurate and timely manner

Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities ( e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)

+ Master’s degree in nursing, or Doctor of Nursin g Practice degree, with a psychiatric nurse practitioner specialization

+ Current national board certification

+ Valid DEA registration and current New York licensure as an advanced practice nurse

+ BLS certification

+ Active Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration

+ Minimum of 3,600 hours of clinical experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner

Preferred Qualification Requirements ( desired requirements beyond MQRs above)

+ 3+ years of experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner

+ Active Medicare and NYS Medicaid registration

+ Familiarity with the NextGen EHR

+ Experience with the I/DD patient population

Compensation:

+ $110.00-125.00/hr.
