• Tax Accountant

    Job Description

    A client of Insight Global is looking to hire a Tax Accountant to join an established accounting firm in Morrisville, VT. This individual is responsible for the accurate preparation and timely filing of fiduciary (trust and estates), charitable, partnership and personal tax returns. They will also provide back up support and report into the Director of Tax Services. This role requires (ideally) on site 5x a week from May through December. During the busy season (January through April) work ranges up to a maximum of approximately 50 hours per week with remote option Saturday. This is a salary position offering a range between $95,000 and $140,000 per year.

    Responsibilities:

    -Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports

     

    -Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets

     

    -Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements

     

    -Create new processes to improve financial efficiency

    -Report analysis and findings to management team

    •Qualifications:

     

    -Previous experience in accounting or other related fields

     

    -Fundamental knowledge of GAAP

     

    -Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.     Skills and Requirements

     

    -2-3+ years of professional experience (will accept co-op, internship experience in Taxation/Accounting)

     

    -Proven experience with all phases of accurate tax preparation, tax problem analysis/resolution and timely filing

     

    -Ability to work on complex tax preparations with minimal direct supervision

     

    -2-3 years of experience filing 1040 (individual), 1065, 1120 and 990's tax returns

     

    -Previous experience in accounting or other related fields

     

    -Fundamental knowledge of GAAP

     

    -Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools -Ability to be on site 5x per week in Morrisville, VT
