    Summary

    EMI is seeking an experienced **Fire Protection Estimator** to join our team supporting fire alarm and clean agent suppression projects specifically for U.S. Government contracts. This role will be instrumental in developing accurate basis of estimates (BOEs) and providing comprehensive proposal support to secure government fire protection opportunities.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop detailed basis of estimates (BOEs) for fire alarm and clean agent suppression projects tailored to U.S. Government requirements.

    + Prepare, review, and submit competitive and compliant proposals for fire protection contracts.

    + Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and business development teams to ensure all project requirements are met.

    + Analyze contract documents, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and costs.

    + Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies in the estimating process.

    + Maintain current knowledge of government procurement processes, regulations, and standards relevant to fire protection systems.

    + Track and manage historical estimate data to improve accuracy and efficiency for future proposals.

    + Support post-award activities by assisting with project kickoff and scope verification.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    + Minimum of 5 years’ experience bidding and executing fire protection contracts with U.S. Government clients.

    + Strong knowledge of fire alarm and clean agent suppression systems design, installation, and compliance standards including but not limited to NFPA, International Building Code (IBC), and International Fire Code (IFC).

    + Proven experience developing basis of estimates (BOEs) and proposal documents for government contracts.

    + Familiarity with government procurement and contract regulations (FAR, DFARS, etc.) is highly preferred.

    + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.

    + Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.

    + Experience working directly with government agencies and understanding their unique requirements preferred

    + Experience with major manufacturers (Notifier, Gamewell FCI, EST, Siemens, FIKE, Kidde etc) preferred

    + Professional certifications related to fire protection or estimating (e.g., NICET, AACE) preferred

    _Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_

    + Knowledgeable of clean agent suppression system installed.

    + Familiar with the operations of clean agent suppression systems.

    + Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    + Proficient in oral and written communication.

    + Ability to work as part of a larger geographically dispersed team.
