    LSI Staffing is HIRING a Buyer/Planner at our client in – NW Houston TX.

     

    Buyer / Planner I

     

    Hourly ($21-$25)

     

    Schedule: Monday-Friday (8-hour shift)

     

    The Buyer/Planner I is responsible for efficiently executing purchase orders and work orders necessary to support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) within the manufacturing process. This role will collaborate closely with the Supply Chain, Production, Sales, and Inventory teams to improve the flow of materials and enhance communication for both internal and external customers.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure that we obtain competitive pricing and timely delivery of essential raw materials, maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) supplies, as well as facilitate effective facilities maintenance. This involves negotiating terms and building strong relationships to foster reliability and quality.

     

    Execute and manage purchase orders based on demand forecasts generated from our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. This ensures that all orders align with the company's production needs and inventory levels, minimizing delays and excess stock.

     

    Create detailed work orders that streamline and optimize the flow of materials between different processes, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and reducing bottlenecks in production.

     

    Schedule work orders strategically, taking into account both the current sales demand and the existing capacity of the shop floor. This helps to balance workload effectively and ensures timely completion of manufacturing tasks.

     

    Maintain the item master database meticulously, which includes setting and reviewing minimum and maximum inventory levels, updating vendor details, and ensuring that all items are accurately categorized. This contributes to better inventory management and procurement decisions.

     

    Proactively communicate any urgent needs or potential material shortages to relevant personnel and management to ensure that all teams are aware of supply chain constraints and can adjust plans accordingly to avoid operational disruptions.

     

    Support efforts to maintain inventory accuracy and integrity through regular audits and reconciliations, ensuring that physical stock matches system records and that discrepancies are promptly addressed.

     

    Coordinate with logistics teams to optimize inbound shipments, focusing on achieving a balance between cost-effectiveness and transit efficiency. This involves planning delivery schedules and selecting the most efficient transportation methods.

     

    Utilize collaborative tools, such as shared spreadsheets and Microsoft Teams, to keep the entire team informed about inventory status, order updates, and any changes in scheduling. This enhances communication and fosters a cohesive working environment.

    Requirements:

    + 3-5 years’ experience

    + College degree or equivalent preferred

    + General knowledge of manufacturing processes

    + Experience using ERP system (Syteline experience a plus)

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, Outlook, and TEAMS.
