    The Office of Judicial Administration is responsible for the efficient administration of all agencies that operate under the direction of the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court. That includes 200 personnel; fiscal management; communication; technology; legal services; intergovernmental relations; services for the trial courts; and support for court boards, commissions, and committees. The Office is headed by Chief Administrative Officer Justin P. Forkner, who reports directly to the Chief Justice of Indiana and serves as the link between the Chief Justice and the agencies of the Court.

     

    Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $50,000 but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.

    About the Job:

    This position is responsible for effectively communicating the work of the Judicial Branch through visual mediums such as graphics, photography, video, websites, one-sheets, and magazine layouts. The position has responsibility for the Court’s social media channels and supports outreach efforts and events managed by the team.

     

    A Day in the Life:

     

    Delivers visual and written internal and external content across a variety of mediums including digital platforms, print products, and social media. Consults with internal customers to aid in conceptualization of projects, by translating complex ideas into concise communications that tell a cohesive story and engage the audience, while maintaining overall consistency of the Court’s message. Duties include, but not limited to:

     

    • Assist with daily maintenance of the Court website, utilizing a content management system, HTML, CSS, and some JavaScript, as well as web design and accessibility (WCAG) best practices.

    • Provide photography services for the Court, taking portraits, capturing events, photographing Court spaces, as well as post-processing, organizing the catalog of photos, and distributing photographs.

    • Assist with live webcasting of oral arguments and other video related needs.

    • Design print and digital materials, including marketing one-sheets, event programs, signage, infographics, and assist as needed with other design projects.

    • Serve as editorial staff for the quarterly Indiana Court Times magazine including assistance with developing stories and design work.

    • Develop, write, edit, design, and distribute regular messaging and blogs, newsletters, and other publications; write for the courts.in.gov website.

    • Work with Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, Excel, and Word documents; work with Adobe PDF files; work in Adobe Creative Suite.

    • Manage multiple large projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and quality completion of deliverables and overall consistency of the Court’s message.

    • Establish and maintain effective team relationships with all Court agencies.

    • Additional duties as assigned.

     

    This position works independently and in collaboration with the OCEO team, while maintaining close working relationships with the Chief Administrative Officer, the Chief Justice, trial court judges, other professional personnel of the Supreme Court and its agencies, vendors, and the public. Professional conduct is required at all times.
