    Job Title: Buyer Job Description

     

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will utilize MRP logic and forecasts in the procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items. This role involves managing inventory, purchase orders, and establishing effective supplier relationships to ensure a seamless supply chain.

    Responsibilities

    + Utilize MRP logic and forecasts in the procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items.

    + Manage inventory to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs.

    + Oversee Purchase Orders from issuance to closure, including resolving blocked invoices, discrepancies, and identifying when expedited shipment is needed.

    + Provide forecasts to suppliers on a recurring and regular basis.

    + Assist with the selection and qualification of suppliers based on commercial and technical capability.

    + Establish effective supplier relationships to mitigate risk in the supply chain.

    + Collaborate with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to enhance the supply chain and assist with the selection and qualification of new suppliers.

    + Support management in completing supplier audits and scorecards.

    + Ensure suppliers adhere to the defined requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management preferred.

    + 3+ years of purchasing experience or extensive internship with direct buying responsibility.

    + Procurement experience in manufacturing is beneficial.

    + Good computer skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Knowledge of MRP/SAP is a plus.

    + Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + APICS certification is beneficial.

    Work Environment

    The work hours are from 8am to 5pm. There is flexibility to take a 30-minute lunch break and leave 30 minutes earlier. This position starts as a contract to support gaps due to medical leave and transitions. However, there is potential for consideration for a full-time direct buyer vacancy based on performance. The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods and walk or stand for brief periods.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grove City, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
