    WORKING TITLE: CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION TECHNICIAN

    This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Circuit 02-0 Tallahassee intake.

     

    The mission of a Criminal Justice Information Technician at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to ensure the accurate and timely collection, processing, and dissemination of criminal justice information. This role involves maintaining and updating offender records, managing data entry and retrieval systems, and supporting the overall information needs of the department.

     

    This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

    JOB DUTIES:

    + Manage Offender Payments: Receive, record, and secure payments from probationers, parolees, and community controlees, ensuring accurate data maintenance and systematic review of payment logs.

    + Reconciliation and Receipts: Provide receipts to offenders and probation officers, research and correct errors, and perform daily reconciliations for supervisor approval.

    + Compile and Coordinate Reports: Prepare transmittal correspondence, summaries, and fiscal reports, coordinating with supervisors and staff to maintain information flow and provide necessary data.

    + Document Review and Confidentiality: Review, verify, and reproduce documents for court and agency submission, maintaining confidentiality of office materials and collecting data for statistical reports.

    + Administrative Support: Assist with vehicle/travel vouchers, serve as office receptionist, take photos of offenders, respond to inquiries, manage records, and oversee supply inventory and purchases.
