Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the team of a top client in the Houston, TX area. The person in this role will be providing support in a fast paced and ever evolving Hyperscale Data Center Module environment. They will be accountable for the mechanical, piping and structural scope and systems in large scale data centers across the design, construction, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning phases. They will support the plant during the manufacturing stage and be responsible for checking and approving drawings / designs. Additionally, they will provide physical troubleshooting and commissioning assistance. They will select / specifying proper painting and coating systems for various items within data centers, determine brackets, fastening, bolting and or mounting of components and equipment. Lastly, they will perform or check pipe stress analysis as well as provide piping load information. The person in this role should have thorough experience with fabrication engineering drawings.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering

5-7 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role

Software's: CAD, Navisworks, SAP

Understanding of chillers, cooling towers, direct and indirect evaporative cooling, mechanical control systems, fan systems, acoustics, pumps, vessels, valves, coolers, and other critical mechanical equipment. Additionally, fabrication engineering drawings.

Structural/architectural ME experience

Experience doing calculations such as valve list, equipment lists, piping line list, piping stress / flexibility study, line sizing of pipe, mechanical equipment data sheets, etc,

Experience with preparing bulk MTOs (Material Take Offs) and detailed BOMs (Bill of Materials). Prior Data Center Experience
