Responsibilities:
GENERAL PURPOSE
Responsible for leading Mechan transduction project (NIH R01AR082349) using primary tissues and mouse models.
Primary experimental assays include cell/tissue culture, histology, microscopy, Ca2+ imaging, PCR, therapeutic treatments. Will mentor technicians and grad students, and work on manuscript and grant submission. Experience in cell culture, histology and mouse models are required. Ability to work in a lab team environment with a diverse group of personnel is essential. Part time, up to 32hr/wk.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Mechan transduction project management.
+ Co-lead techniciansand students for the experiments and data analysis.
+ Collaborate for a manuscript submission and presentation.
Training.
+ Provide support and technical advice/training for technicians, students, or postdoctoral fellows in relevant laboratory techniques and equipment use.
+ Comply with all institutional laboratory safety procedures.
Experiments.
+ Experiments include mouse models and in vitro cell/tissue biology.
+ Histology tissue blocks and harvest primary cells for experiments (technicians will assist).
+ Maintain laboratory notebooks, database, analyze data on computers/box, and design new protocols.
Research Analysis, Presentation, report.
+ Read literatures, data analysis and present findings in weekly/monthly meetings.
+ Work with PI on progress reports and future research plan.
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
+ PhD in Biology, biochemistry or other appropriate discipline. Required
+ 2 years of relevant postdoctoral training
+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience Required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
+ Experience in cell culture and mouse models are required.
+ Has first-author and co-author publications. Required
