Koniag Emerging Technologies is seeking an **Environmental Compliance Specialist** to support the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO) at Stennis Space Center. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with state, federal, and Navy environmental standards, supporting hazardous waste management, spill prevention, and fuel tank oversight.
This individual will work directly with NAVOCEANO’s Safety and Environmental Division, ensuring that the Navy maintains a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operating environment.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain Tier 1 (T1) background investigation.
+ Experience in environmental compliance, hazardous waste management, and/or spill prevention.
+ Strong knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations, including:
+ 29 CFR 1910 (OSHA)
+ 40 CFR Parts 112, 260–279 (EPA hazardous waste & spill prevention
+ 49 CFR Parts 100–199 (DOT hazardous materials transport
+ Navy environmental instructions (e.g., OPNAVINST 5090.1D).
+ Excellent organizational, recordkeeping, and reporting skills.
+ Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with Navy and contractor personnel.
+ Proficiency with compliance systems such as EPR Web and HWMS Web preferred.
