    As an Optometric Prescreener II, you will play a key role in supporting patient care by performing essential pre-testing and diagnostic procedures, including auto-refraction, lensometry, tonometry, topography, visual fields and OCT. You'll gather preliminary case histories, assess visual acuities and administer eye drops as directed by the doctor. In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records, assist with reception operations, and help maintain a clean, organized and well-stocked clinical environment to support smooth daily operations.

     

    A caregiver in this role works 40 hours per week from 7:30am to 4:00pm.

    A caregiver who excels in this role will:

    + Conduct pre-testing and special testing such as auto refraction, lensometry, tonometry, topography, visual fields, OCT as well as preliminary case history of patient.

    + Process patient's information in electronic medical records and help maintain operation on reception records.

    + Manage patient flow by effectively communicating with team members and providers.

    + Stock exam and clinical areas as well as clean sterilize specified areas.

    + Drop installation-as ordered by provider.

    Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

    + High school diploma or GED

    + Minimum of one year experience in an optometry and/or ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care OR additional formal education or training in stated field may substitute for some or all stated experience

    Physical Requirements:

    + Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.

    + Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.

    + May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.

    + Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
