What We Want
The Assistant Program Director, under general direction, assists the Sr. Associate Director in the development, administration, and implementation of career management programs to effectively meet student career needs, as well as the objectives of the Flex Online MBA Program and Mays Business School. Serves as a knowledgeable resource to students, administration, and faculty by proactively providing information and responding to issues regarding student career success.

Opportunities to Contribute
Career Coaching/Advising
Individually and in affinity groups, work with Flex Online MBA students to support their growth along a career development path. Advise and guide in areas including self-awareness, career awareness, interest, fit, and skills. Review, assess and provide constructive feedback on progress and actions in each career development area. Work with students to guide, critique and revise multiple forms of written & verbal communication. Coach/advise students in resume/cover letter/LinkedIn profile development, interview preparation, networking skills, professional presence, elevator pitch, personal brand development and other graduate career development areas. Connect with students both virtually and in person at the student’s discretion.
Education/Training
Delivers state of the art career education and readiness programs for subject students, both virtually and in person. Sets new standards in career education and preparation for Flex online career programming. Provides students with lifelong career management skills.
Career Program Operations
Carry out and oversee ongoing and recurring career program operation activities to include compiling and distributing resume books, administering relevant employment websites, preparing employer materials and other operational and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Business, Human Resource Management, or applicable field
+ Six years of program coordination or closely related experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ MBA or relevant advanced degree
+ Previous experience in business management, project management, corporate training and/or consulting/advisory roles
+ Prior experience in career coaching and development
+ Experience working with business professionals
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Knowledge of career planning and career management skills
+ Knowledge of technical and/or business management roles
+ Ability to transfer and communicate technical skills in business language/terms
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Effective analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills
+ Knowledge and/or comfort with standard office tools, MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Web based tools
+ Knowledge of presentation and training skills
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others
