The Data Office supports the overall General Insurance product by managing Data, Data Governance, and the presentation of the data (Business Intelligence Delivery).
How you will create an impact
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated BI Application Support Lead to take ownership of BAU support operations for our Underwriting (UW) reporting applications. This role is critical to ensuring consistent application availability, compliance with internal and regulatory standards and ongoing enhancements of our BI capabilities.
You will be responsible for managing BAU support activities, engaging with business stakeholders, overseeing vendor staff, and maintaining production stability across multiple BI platforms. The role requires deep expertise in business intelligence tools, SDLC practices, data governance, and support operations.
+ Lead and coordinate all BAU support activities for BI applications in the Underwriting domain.
+ Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the BI UW applications, by documenting technical process, support protocols, and application changes to ensure knowledge retention.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to understand BAU requirements and prioritize enhancements and maintenance.
+ Work closely with business users, IT, platform teams and project managers to understand requirements and priorities
+ Monitor and maintain compliance for GEAR tower applications and support internal and external audit requirements.
+ Implement and enforce SDLC best practices for BI application support, including rigorous documentation and SLA management.
+ Oversee vendor-managed service teams, ensuring high-quality deliverables, KPI tracking, and service level adherence.
+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of support processes, performance tuning, and reporting optimizations.
What you need to succeed
+ 8 years of experience in Business Intelligence application development and production support roles.
+ 3 years of experience within the insurance or financial services industry, preferably in Underwriting or compliance/reporting areas.
+ Experience in deploying, maintaining, and monitoring BI reporting solutions on various BI platforms like PBI, Tableau, Cognos and/or Qlik
+ Has strong understanding of principles, procedures, and skills in BI domain and a strong understanding of SDLC and BAU support/delivery practices
+ Proven experience in managing and supporting large-scale reporting solutions.
+ Ability to influence change and drive best practices in BAU support models. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; must be proactive in identifying and resolving system and data issues.
+ Ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated leadership in vendor management and cross-team coordination.
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field.
The base salary range for this position in Parsippany , NJ, is $86,000-$106,000. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
