Position Overview

Trident Maritime Systems, LLC in Newport News, VA is seeking a motivated Parts Assembler / Production Associate to join our production team. This position plays a key role in supporting shop operations by handling, assembling, and preparing parts for production. The ideal candidate will have basic computer knowledge, strong teamwork skills, and a commitment to safety. Experience reading blueprints is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

+ Move parts, equipment, and materials throughout the shop.

+ Inventory items and ensure accurate tracking of materials.

+ Kit production pieces together for assembly.

+ Safely operate a variety of hand and power tools.

+ Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.

+ Assist welders, painters, and other tradespeople as needed.

+ Handle and transport raw materials and equipment (e.g., drills, grinders).

+ Report issues with equipment or unsafe conditions immediately.

+ Follow instructions from supervisors and shop foreman to perform assigned tasks.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

+ Ability to meet the physical demands of the job, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 40 lbs.

+ Must be able to pass a drug screen.

+ Familiarity with power tools and machinery; forklift experience a plus.

+ Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

+ Basic computer skills; ability to read blueprints is a plus.

+ Strong communication and teamwork skills.

+ Commitment to following safety rules and regulations.
