    Job Title: Quality Technician II Job Description

     

    The Quality Technician II is responsible for analyzing process samples and performing non-routine analyses as requested. This role involves analyzing finished goods and raw materials using chemical, physical, and instrumental methods to ensure quality. The position requires working a 12-hour rotating shift schedule from 7 PM to 7 AM, with the possibility of night shifts and occasional overtime.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform in-process testing for internal customers.

    + Conduct finished goods, returned goods, and stability testing for external customers as needed.

    + Analyze all process control samples and report results promptly via telephone or computer entry using approved procedures and proper laboratory techniques.

    + Maintain accurate and precise records of all laboratory analyses using the appropriate recordkeeping system.

    + Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instrumentation.

    + Prepare all standards and reagents necessary for the proper execution of analytical methods and procedures.

    + Prioritize and plan workload and team assignments to meet customer needs efficiently and accurately.

    + Assist in non-routine analytical work needed to solve plant problems.

    + Use problem-solving skills for failure investigations and testing issues.

    + Aid in performing non-routine quality control tasks such as resampling, raw material testing, and analysis for method and equipment validation.

    + Participate in a certified 5S Workplace System to maintain good housekeeping and organization.

    + Assist with training others as needed.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-3 years of laboratory experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation preferred.

    + Working knowledge of cGMP is a plus.

    + Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

    + Familiarity with basic laboratory procedures and equipment.

    + Proficiency in computer key punching.

    + Sound and correct technical judgments during routine analysis.

    + High degree of concentration required.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associate degree or Technical degree in a related field required.

    + B.S. degree in Physical Science or related field preferred.

    Work Environment

    Most work is performed in a well-equipped analytical laboratory with fume hoods, laboratory benches, analytical glassware, and instruments. Sampling is conducted in a warehouse or processing area. The position involves exposure to fugitive emissions of chemicals typical for chemical operations. Normal dexterity is required for handling laboratory glassware and instruments. The ability to distinguish colors and slight differences in liquid volumes is important. The role requires wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) such as a hard hat, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses, and other necessary equipment as per safety guidelines.

    This is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, North Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
