    Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    Join our team as a New Model Launch Engineer for vehicle programs, focusing on launching new vehicle and powertrain programs in North American assembly plants. The role involves overall program management and delivery of new vehicle programs, ensuring seamless integration and execution across various stages.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage the overall program management and delivery of new vehicle programs.

    + Resolve issues and assess quality/status.

    + Oversee fleet vehicle management and budgets/timing.

    + Coordinate the Launch Teams' transition to the plant.

    + Manage Pre-Production Build Events.

    + Order, build, test, and manage the disposition of vehicles.

    + Implement the Pre-Production Drive Fleet Evaluation Plan.

    + Approve Product Development changes ahead of prototype builds.

    + Serve as the gatekeeper for New Model Programs.

    + Lead the build issues management process for the cross-functional program team.

    + Co-chair meetings and drive part support issues to resolution for each pre-production build.

    + Champion and present Management Presentations.

    + Prepare and present New Model Program weekly assessment reports.

    + Manage launch budget approval and execute elements controlled by New Model Programs within the launch budget.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in manufacturing processes.

    + Proficiency in program and project management.

    + Manufacturing engineering expertise.

    + Experience as a Launch Engineer.

    + Knowledge of powertrain systems.

    + Strong reporting skills, including proficiency in Excel.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering.

    + 2+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the automotive sector.

    + Proven program management skills.

    + Capability to manage multiple workstreams and ensure on-time delivery.

    + Cross-functional collaboration abilities.

    + Strong communication skills.

    + Detail-oriented and highly organized.

    Work Environment

    The work environment includes an office cubical setting for PVT engineers and managers. You will spend approximately 30% of your time in the plant, collaborating with union employees on assembly issues. The office is climate-controlled, while the production floor is not. This is a union facility with a standard shift of Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the potential for some overtime. You will work alongside other PVT Engineers in Kansas City and may support the team in Dearborn, MI. The dress code is typical for the automotive industry, consisting of jeans and a polo.

    This is a Contract position based out of Kansas City, Missouri.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
