JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a reliable Facilities Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for maintain the safety, functionality, and overall condition of our facilities through preventative maintenance, repairs, and coordination with vendors. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and able to respond quickly to both routine and urgent maintenance needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Inspections and Troubleshooting: Perform daily tours to identify and correct any facilities deficiencies.
+ Plan, organize and implement facilities cleaning.
+ Monitor, maintain and reorder facilities maintenance supplies.
+ Maintenance and Repair: Perform minor maintenance repairs such as drywall repairs, painting, heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
+ Perform routine maintenance on building operational control systems such as shop compressor, security gate systems, dock control systems, garage doors or other similar building related control systems.
+ Must ensure the cleanliness of restrooms, offices, walls and windows.
+ Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders in preparing for corporate events.
+ Ensure company fleet vehicles are on routine maintenance schedules and maintaining records for the fleet.
+ Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and prepare reports for management.
+ Vendor Coordinator: Coordinate and oversee work performed by external vendors and contractors to ensure quality and compliance with company standards.
+ Emergency Response: Respond promptly to urgent facility issues such as power outages, equipment failures or safety hazards.
+ Exercise a safety conscious attitude in order to identify, report, and rectify contrary situations or behaviors.
+ Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
+ Education: High school diploma or equivalents required; training or certifications in relevant trades.
+ Current forklift license and elevated platform experience is a plus.
+ Should currently hold an OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
+ Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in repair and maintenance of commercial buildings.
+ Physical Fitness: Ability to lift, move and carry equipment, materials, with the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks. Will regularly be working with objects around 50lbs.
+ Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using hand and power tools.
+ Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues across multiple building systems, and ability in safe conduct and work initiative.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This role is based in a warehouse setting and requires frequent movement throughout the facility. Areas could be noisy, dusty or subject to temperature changes depending on the season. Tasks may include standing, walking, climbing, bending, and lifting moderate to heavy objects. Work could take place in confined spaces.
