• Back-end Software Developer

    CTG (Austin, TX)


    CTG is seeking to fill a Back-end Software Developer opening for our client in Austin, TX.

     

    **Location:** Austin, TX

    **Duration:** Ongoing Contract

    Duties:

    + Develop, implement, and maintain new features, enhancements, and business solutions for Power Hybrid Cloud offerings.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

    + Apply agile methodologies and DevOps practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

    + Translate existing ACI network configuration scripts into implementations using RESTCONF directly on switches.

    + Develop back-end and/or full stack solutions using modern programming languages and cloud technologies.

    + Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization.

    + Provide technical expertise in both software development and CISCO networking domains.

    Skills:

    + Proficiency in programming languages such as Golang and Python.

    + Experience with Linux/UNIX environments.

    + Familiarity with Cloud DevOps tools including Git and Jenkins.

    + Strong understanding of open-source technology and systems engineering.

    + Knowledge of networking and internet protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP).

    + Hands-on experience with JSON, web services, APIs, REST, and RPC.

    + Cloud-based services experience (virtualization, hybrid computing, cloud storage, security, monitoring, networking).

    + Familiarity with databases including SQL, NoSQL, and Postgres.

    + Web development knowledge (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, Redux, GraphQL).

    + Experience with OpenStack, IBM Private Cloud, or similar platforms.

    + Knowledge of cloud storage solutions (EMC, Pure, NetApp).

    + Knowledge of HashiCorp Terraform.

    + Strong CISCO networking skills, particularly with ACI architecture and configurations.

    Experience:

    + 3 to 8 years of professional experience in software development or cloud engineering.

    + 3+ years developing software applications.

    + 2–3 years working with Golang and Python.

    + 3+ years working with CISCO networking gear and networking concepts.

    + Experience designing and implementing CISCO networks with deep understanding of Layer 2/3, VRFs, VXLAN, MPLS, and BGP.

    + Experience with CISCO ACI including APIC, tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, and contracts.

    Education:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).

     

    Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
