    INFECTION CONTROL/COMMUNICABLE DISEASE COORDINATOR*

    Washington County Public Health Department is currently accepting applications forInfection Control/Communicable Disease Coordinator*. The Infection Control/Communicable Disease Coordinator is responsible for administering countywide public health educational programs, geared towards disease prevention and/or wellness. The incumbent performs epidemiological surveillance for the control of infectious/communicable disease outbreaks and assists with emergency preparedness programs consistent with Federal and State and local laws and rules. This position is part of the on-call rotation for the Agency. The work is performed under the Director of Public Health and/or Director of Patient Services. Does related work as required.

     

    *This is a Civil Service Competitive position. Provisional appointee must take a future-dated exam and be reachable on the resulting Eligible List for permanent appointment .

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Either:

    + Possession of a bachelor’s degree in nursing and two (2) years of experience in a Public Health Department conducting surveillance and disease control in a public health program OR two (2) years of experience in communicable and infectious disease control in a hospital or clinic setting; OR

    + Possession of a bachelor’s degree in a health-related field and an associate’s degree in nursing and two (2) years of experience in a Public Health Department conducting surveillance and disease control in a public health program OR two (2) years of experience in communicable and infectious disease control in a hospital or clinic setting.

     

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Licensure and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State and possession of a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate to the vehicles operated or otherwise demonstrate the ability to meet the transportation needs of the job.

     

    STARTING RATE OF PAY : $35.64/hour plus excellent benefits
