Job Description
The CMS General Accounting department is seeking a detail oriented and motivated individual to be our next Lease Accountant! In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining lease accounting processes in accordance with the IFRS 16 standard and BAE Systems internal policy.
This is a highly detail driven role and among other duties, involves reviewing and approving lease-related transactions, performing account reconciliations, assisting with lease forecasts and providing lease related accounting guidance to the business. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with Oracle ERP including Fixed Assets and AP modules as well as the KTA workflow. The candidate will have the ability to interpret accounting policy and apply to lease scenarios and clearly communicate to cross functional stakeholders.
Some travel maybe required.
Primary responsibilities include:
Lease and Rent Transaction Review
Lease vs Buy Analysis
Lease Account Reconciliations
Monthly Review of Lease POs and Expense Rent Accounts
Leased asset tagging and physical inventory
Addition of new leases and modifications, dispose of returned or Evergreen leases in the Lease Administration System (LAS) and Oracle.
Asset related journal entries and expenditure batches
Month end closing of the leased asset module in Oracle
Ad hoc reporting and analysis, forecasting support to FP&A team and HFM input
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
2 years of accounting experience
Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Oracle Fixed Assets, AP and KTA
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
IFRS 16 Lease Accounting
Experience with policy interpretation
Process Improvement
Procedure Development
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $60076 - $102130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
