    Overview

     

    We are seeking a Patient Account Registrar (PAR), internally referred to as our Patient Registration Representative or Patient Access Representative, in the Admitting Department . The Patient Account Registrar (PAR) interviews the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics.

     

    Shift’s Available: variable

     

    Employment Type:per diem/PRN

     

    Hours:8 hour shift

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    + Interview the patient or his/her representative to obtain patient demographics

    + Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits and authorizations as applicable

    + Work closely with all facets of the Admitting Department, including PBX operator function and reception areas

    + Must be able to operate a computer to input and retrieve data

    + Able to communicate with the population served utilizing age specific techniques from neonatal, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle adult to geriatrics

    + Maintain proficiency in medical terminology

    + Special projects or other assignments may be given with expectations to be completed in a specified timeframe

    + We are looking for a person with a positive attitude who has compassion and empathy for others

    + Willingness to learn and be ambitious and successful in your role

    Qualifications

    Education and Training

     

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

     

    + High school graduate or GED equivalent

    + Effective written and verbal communication skills

    + Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines

    + Analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Customer service experience

    + Must be able to type
