    Job Title: Design Engineer

    Job Description

    Join a dedicated team focused on designing and delivering world-class braking and steering systems for innovative electric vehicles. As a Design and Release Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing components for the brake system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring concepts to production.

    Responsibilities

    + Support design tasks for electro-hydraulic brake system components from initial concept to production.

    + Document requirements for components based on desired vehicle functions and attributes.

    + Lead technical development activities with suppliers, driving design solutions under time, cost, and technical constraints.

    + Support system and component DFMEAs and DVPs and contribute to system failure mode analyses.

    + Perform detailed assessments of bolted connections to ensure compliance with structural and safety standards.

    + Conduct structural analysis for safety-critical components.

    + Resolve virtual build issues through benchmarking and support manufacturing teams with poke-yoke error-proofing solutions.

    + Utilize CAD and stack-ups to verify spatial constraints, clearances, and packaging feasibility.

    + Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing principles to validate part fit, form, and function.

    + Create, track, and drive closure of engineering change requests to support design updates and continuous improvement.

    + Contribute to cost-saving and continuous improvement roadmaps for current and future vehicles.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with design and release of safety-critical components from concept to production.

    + Excellent 3D CAD skills.

    + Project and supplier management skills.

    + Design release engineering experience, including engineering change management and project management.

    + Minimum 5 years of automotive industry experience.

    + Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 and 3DX.

    + Knowledge of chassis and braking systems.

    + Strong understanding of safety-critical automotive mechatronics and hydraulic systems.

    + Experience with requirements management and verification planning.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + BS/BEng or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering.

    + Experience with brakes, chassis systems, mechatronics, and hydraulic systems.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
