The Campus Technician is responsible for providing onsite technical support to internal and external customers, resolving complex or escalated technology issues. This role ensures the smooth operation of applications, hardware, and systems, and provides advanced troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, tablets, smartphones, printers, and occasionally servers or network devices. The technician may also lead problem resolution efforts, support change management processes, and perform system upgrades, repairs, backups, and data transfers.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide onsite support for software, hardware, and peripheral issues across desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and printers.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve escalated technical problems, including BSODs, VPN connectivity, Outlook email issues, and performance concerns.
+ Configure devices using imaging processes; install, upgrade, and replace hardware/software as required.
+ Maintain, analyze, and repair computer systems and peripherals; update drivers and diagnose related issues.
+ Support mobile users with network access, email, and remote connectivity.
+ Perform advanced troubleshooting using command-line tools, event logs, and remote support utilities (RDP, TeamViewer, Windows Assist, LogMeIn Rescue).
+ Utilize Active Directory, Intune/Autopilot, and MDM tools for account management and device configuration.
+ Provide technical training and knowledge-sharing to end users and peers.
+ Document incidents, resolutions, and changes within ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools.
+ Assist with technical documentation, system imaging, and cloud-based service support.
+ Collaborate across teams to lead problem resolution and ensure timely delivery of IT services.
Skills & Qualifications:
+ **Operating Systems** : Windows 10/11 (advanced knowledge), macOS familiarity.
+ **Applications** : Microsoft Office 365 (in-depth troubleshooting of complex issues).
+ **Networking** : VPN troubleshooting, connectivity diagnostics, command-line utilities.
+ **Hardware** : Desktop/laptop components, printer hardware, driver updates.
+ **Tools** : ServiceNow (or similar ticketing system), MDM platforms, Azure.
+ **Remote Support** : Skilled with common remote access tools.
+ Minimum **2 years of experience** in desktop support or a similar technical role.
+ Proven experience supporting Microsoft Intune, Autopilot, Azure, and cloud-based environments.
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
+ Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
+ Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and work under pressure.
+ Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to maintain composure in high-stress environments.
+ Demonstrated initiative, leadership, and a willingness to take ownership of challenges.
+ Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills.
+ Self-motivated, dependable, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
+ Professional demeanor with the ability to remain calm and effective in challenging situations.
Wage Range:
The rate for this position is between **$18.75 -** **$27.50** per hour. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
