Job Description
What it's like working for the range team? We support various programs on different stages of the products. From development to full rate production. The range team is a well diverse group of people, of different technical backgrounds, and skill sets. The team works together to solve multiple testing challenges, improvement to the test ranges and provide proper training to our team of technicians. We are a very dynamic group, where no job is too small to be performed by any member of our team.
The operation engineer will be in charge of day-to-day activities on their assigned range(s). Provide direction and proper training to their assigned technician team. The candidate will collaborate with different groups and teams to ensure a successful and proper operation in the range.
What You ll Do:
+ Apply technical knowledge in electrical engineering, RF engineering and RF electronics to antenna measurement challenges.
+ Create, update and maintain range procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and/or equipment to meet special needs.
+ Document and create reports for the configuration and processes of the ranges.
+ Advise on the technical aspects of maintenance, repair and upgrade projects.
+ Manage range schedule and operations by coordinating with multiple customers.
+ Work with RF Engineers to develop technical solutions to problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
+ Work with metrology and facilities to ensure the range equipment is calibrated and maintained per company policies.
+ Provide training, guidance and mentorship to technicians on range practices, techniques and processes used to measure antennas.
+ Prevent the use of measurement techniques that pose a safety hazard to personnel, or a significant risk of damage to hardware or range equipment.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Provide support over the phone during off shift hours.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department and programs Engineers and PMs. Interact appropriately with others to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Obtain and maintain a security clearance.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ BS in Engineering or a related technical field plus 4 or more years related experience.
+ Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ Competency and demonstrated success in core electrical engineering, RF antenna and RF electronics skills and testing.
+ Capability of interfacing and communicating effectively with co-workers and customers at all levels.
+ Excellent communication skills.
+ Experience with RF Ranges.
+ Knowledge of Electromagnetic Theory.

A DoD Interim Secret clearance will be required to start work and required to be maintained to continue work. Higher level clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred with Electromagnetic theory is preferred.
+ Experience in testing Antennas in RF Ranges.
+ Experience with PNAs or similar acquisition systems.
+ Experience managing various assets.
+ Experience with Python, Matlab, SABER and Knowbell, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
+ Top Secret or Secret clearance with previous SAPs preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
