Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a skilled or entry level Electrical Engineer to join our client who is a UL508A-certified panel shop. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management, preparing quotations, and designing electrical schematics for custom control panels, ensuring compliance with UL508A standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Oversee control panel projects from conception to completion, coordinating with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery within budget.

• Quotations: Prepare accurate and competitive project quotations, including material costs, labor estimates, and timelines based on client requirements.

• Electrical Schematics: Design and draft detailed electrical schematics for control panels using CAD software, ensuring compliance with UL508A standards, NEC, and other relevant codes.

• Technical Support: Provide technical guidance to production teams during panel assembly, troubleshooting issues and ensuring quality control.

• Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand project specifications, provide updates, and ensure designs meet their needs.

• Compliance: Ensure all designs and processes adhere to UL508A standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices.

• Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including schematics, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and project reports.

• Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve design efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance panel shop processes.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. (experience can supplement a degree)

Experience with CAD software (Solidworks or AutoCAD Electrical preferred)

Familiar with electrical schematics design

oExcellent communication skills for client interactions and team collaboration. Strong understanding of UL508A standards, NEC, and other relevant electrical codes.
