    The Computer Science department is seeking a **Program Manager - Code in Place** (PM) to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the program, Code In Place. This role will ensure compliance with academic and technical standards while providing support to registered users and external partners. The PM will coordinate development updates, analyze data to propose recommendations, and evaluate new technologies to optimize resource allocation and user feedback, with the ultimate goal of enhancing program efficiency.     This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement with occasional visits to the Stanford campus, subject to operational needs.

    In this role, you will:

    + Conduct interviews, hire students as teaching assistants and remote section leaders.

    + Work closely with Stanford’s Engineering Center for Global and Online Education (CGOE) to coordinate on all the necessary elements for the program.

    + Serve as a point of contact for partnerships and growth opportunities that helps Code in Place expand.

    + High level team management and serving as a reliable teaching, informational source of truth for students, section leaders and teaching assistants on program registration, course lessons, assignment Q&As, program updates and examples of possible career choices.

    + Help with student grievances and handle students with special needs. Such as postponing progress within the program for a later date of completion, to attend to emergencies.

    + Prepare training materials, guidelines and onboarding materials for section leaders. Update materials as program grows and expands.

    + Prepare detailed timelines, deliverables, dates, goals, anticipates program’s needs, etc.

    + Compile evaluations from students, teaching assistants, section leaders. Prepare and summarize reports and make recommendations to enhance offerings, such as programs and courses and to influence current processes and policies.

    + Develop, analyze, influence and review, policies, processes and programs by incorporating feedback and trend data learned from first-line interactions with students. Advise manager and team on policy updates and provide recommendation for implementation of changes.

    + Identify inconsistencies, redundancies, errors and bugs within the program to minimize any errors and improve user experience.

    + Oversee and timely prepare certificates.

    Education & Experience (Required):

    + Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (Required):

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    + Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

    + Basic analysis and problem solving skills.

    + Customer service skills.

    + Relevant computer systems/technology experience.

    + Understanding of financial transactions.

    + Ability to learn and understand compliance with legal, financial, and university policies and external regulations.

    Education & Experience (Desired):

    + Demonstrated ability and interest in interacting with and mentoring students.

    + Prior experience working in a lab setting.

    + General background in a discipline related to the work of specific lab(s).

    + Ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects in a complex and technical environment.

    Working Conditions:

    + May work extended or unusual work hours due to research or project requirements and peak work cycles.

    + Ability to work in an environment with graduate and PhD students.

    Physical Requirements:

    + Frequently sit, perform desk-based computer tasks.

    + Occasionally stand, walk, twist, use fine manipulation, grasp, use a telephone, write by hand, sort and file paperwork, lift, carry, push, and pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.

    Pay Range:

    The expected pay range for this position is $80,905 to $91,375 per annum.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
