    Job Overview

     

    Bee Sweet Citrus is seeking an experienced farm mechanic. This position will work with the Farm Management Team to ensure proper maintenance on company trucks, sprayers, farm implements etc. In addition to knowledge of backhoe and construction equipment operation is preferred.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    + Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractor, harvesters, and irrigation systems

    + Record details of repairs made and parts used an equipment management software

    + Locate, diagnoses, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on all equipment to reduce risk of future problems

    + Knowledge of diesel engines, spray systems and pumps

    + Diagnosing and performing minor and major repairs on engine, transmission, differential, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, HVAC, power steering, cooling, fuel, and emissions

    + Knowledge of welding and Fabrication

    + Engines including diesels and propane

    + Knowledge of wind machines

    + Familiarity with the Central Valley roads

    + Safe operation of company vehicles, tractors, sprayers and implements

    + Always work in a safe manner following all established safety rules and regulations including Company’s Fleet Safety Program

    + Some knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

    + Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

    + Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred

    Physical Requirements

    + Must be able to think rationally and apply logic during high-stress situations

    + Must be able to bend, and stoop, including the need to move and lift heavy objects

    + Must be able to work both inside and outside conditions, frequent exposure to heat, cold, adverse weather, greases, oils, noise, chemicals and work in and around moving vehicles

    + Must be able to climb, reach/stretch arms legs or other parts of the body to grasp objects

    + Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and machinery including computers, calculators, copiers, diagnostic equipment, hand tools, etc.

    Experience

    + High School Diploma or equivalent

    + Minimum of 2-5 years of mechanical experience

    + $25 - $35 per hour
