Job Title: Technical Writer
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Technical Writer with a strong experience in developing clear, concise, and structured documentation for complex technology-based systems. You will work with the ILS team on complex projects to produce documentation, user manuals, operations and maintenance manuals, and quick reference guides.
Responsibilities
+ Create and maintain structured documentation for complex technology systems.
+ Collaborate with the ILS team to produce user manuals, operations manuals, and quick reference guides.
+ Ensure all documentation complies with DoD, FAA standards, and other regulatory requirements.
+ Utilize template design software to create documents in MS Word and PDF formats.
+ Engage in document control processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of relevant experience in technical writing.
+ Proficiency in document control, DoD, and FAA compliance.
+ Experience with template design software, MS Word, and PDF files.
+ BA/BS degree in writing, information design, or communication.
+ Familiarity with military/DOD standards and structured document creation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with MadCap Flare and HTML template writing.
+ Familiarity with DoD, Aerospace, or FAA programs.

This is a remote opportunity offering the chance to work on cutting-edge training programs for advanced technology systems. You will be part of an inclusive environment and a great team. While the role is primarily remote, candidates should be able to commute to Syracuse if needed.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of East Syracuse, New York.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
