    Job Title: Patient Liaison Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled PLT to enhance patient care and streamline clinical operations. You will play a crucial role in responding to patient inquiries, managing prescriptions, and coordinating essential medical records and referrals.     Responsibilities

    + Respond to patient questions via phone regarding treatment, symptoms, prescriptions, and other inquiries.

    + Set up tests as requested by physicians, obtain necessary pre-authorizations, and communicate results to patients, including imaging and lab work.

    + Send and refill prescriptions through written, faxed, or electronic means.

    + Schedule outgoing referrals and send necessary chart information.

    + Request medical records from other physician offices and scan them into the Electronic Health Records system.

    + Complete patient paperwork such as worker’s compensation and FMLA forms and document work in the Electronic Health Records system.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electronic health records and appointment scheduling.

    + Strong patient care and education skills.

    + Experience with inbound and outbound calls.

    + At least 3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.

    + Medical Assistant Certification is required.

    + High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

    + B.S. Degree is a plus.

    + Bilingual skills are advantageous.

    + Computer skills.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience in ophthalmology is beneficial.

    Work Environment

    You will work in a fast-paced clinical environment, seeing 80-100 patients daily. The clinic operates from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, and your schedule will depend on the clinic's needs, with early or late hours only during busy periods. Training will be conducted at the administrative building in the Galleria. You will be part of a team of 8-24 individuals, with each physician supported by 8 clinic staff members. Dress code includes navy blue scrubs, with short, groomed nails and hair that must be tied back.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bellaire, Texas.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
