Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical Project Engineer focused on Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This role supports the execution of ammunition research and development programs, providing a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology projects.
Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with the Advanced Programs team to support the execution of ammunition research and development programs.
+ Design new products, including components, subassemblies, and assemblies, to meet the evolving needs of the warfighter, with a focus on producibility and affordability.
+ Conduct assembly and component analysis through hand calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis.
+ Assemble and test prototypes in both laboratory and ballistic settings.
+ Plan projects and phases, track task completion, and coordinate with functional and subcontracted support teams to drive the execution of analyze-design-test-validate cycles for product development and qualification.
+ Develop and present subsystem and system technical design reviews.
+ Work under limited supervision to meet the technical, financial, and schedule objectives of projects, making data-driven decisions and preparing technical justification and reports for management reviewers.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related science and engineering discipline.
+ Experience in the defense industry.
+ Proficiency in hardware and circuit board design.
+ Experience with radio frequency (RF) and Doppler radar.
+ Proficiency in electronic design and simulation tools.
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Excellent organizational skills including project management.
+ Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (MS Project is a plus).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
+ Understanding of internal and external ballistics and lethal mechanisms is a plus.
+ Ability to collaborate with peers, supervisory employees, and customers as needed.
+ Strong organizational abilities, initiative, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Work Environment
The role reports to the Director of Advanced Programs and involves close collaboration with Program Managers and the R&D/NPD teams. You will focus on driving efforts on current and future programs, ensuring competitiveness and meeting customer demands. The work environment is clean and offers exciting opportunities for growth as the team expands. You will work with Inspectors, Manufacturing, and the Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team. The company has secured business and contracts for the next five years, offering stability and growth opportunities, including tuition reimbursement.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Janesville, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $130000.00/yr.
