Job Description
- Responsible for process parameters and equipment implementation in the rubber Mixing Department
- The position focuses on reduction of variability and addressing issues which arise in production
- Will work with the technical department, customers, mix department, sales and customer service for the creative implementation of technology
- Adherence to ISO 9001 with development and maintenance of work instructions
- Provides technical service to production by instructing operators and creating documentation on mixing process, cure cycles, temperatures, or process requirements
- Creation of graphs and data analysis of production parameters
- Extensive interaction with Enterprise software (QAD) and equipment software to identify data, develop relationships, and set up formulations for production
- Develops and maintains relationships with customers and suppliers
- Provides technical service to customers by evaluating their specific product needs
- Adjusts formulations for scorch consistency by modification of formulation, modification of mixing cycle, or by running S.P.C. and changing control gates
- Utilizes work away stock through knowledge of stock by using formulations
- Identifies and recommends process changes that result in cost and scrap reductions
- Recommends compound for quoting
- Evaluates raw material for cost reductions
- Makes recommendations for improving effectiveness of policies and procedures
Must Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Polymer Science preferably
- Experience in mill mixing; Banbury mixing; molding, injection, transfer/compression; extrusion, hot and cold feed; curing of extrusion, salt microwave or autoclave
- Knowledge of rubber QC and development tests and equipment
- Thorough understanding of ISO9001
- Knowledge of various polymers and properties
- Knowledge of ingredients used in rubber formulations - cure systems, reinforcing agents, plasticizers, fillers, antioxidants, activators, etc.
- SPC and 8-D problem solving methods knowledge
- Rubber formulating experience
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
401 K match, paid PTO and holiday

This is a fully onsite position in Chardon,OH.
