Job Title: Mobile Engineer 3
Job Description
The Mobile Engineer is responsible for operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple locations. This role requires expertise in one primary trade (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations) and proficiency in others.
Responsibilities
+ Perform repairs and maintenance on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire/life safety, and control systems.
+ Clean, inspect, calibrate, and replace parts to ensure HVAC systems operate at peak performance.
+ Record equipment readings and make necessary adjustments.
+ Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper operation and maintenance.
+ Oversee preventative maintenance schedules.
+ Manage purchasing, inventory control, and contracted services.
+ Follow policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
+ Identify and mitigate safety hazards.
+ Conduct periodic checks of tools and instruments.
+ Monitor quality and pricing of work performed by external contractors.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ 5–7 years of experience in commercial building systems maintenance and repair.
+ Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
+ EPA 608 Type II Certification.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
+ Valid driver’s license.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ EPA 608 Universal Certification.
+ Two years of trade school in electrical system design, refrigeration, or HVAC.

Work Environment
The role involves traveling between multiple facilities to ensure their proper function. You will work with various technologies and equipment, including Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems. Safety procedures and good housekeeping are paramount, and adherence to safety protocols is required. The position offers a balance between hands-on maintenance and technical proficiency tasks. The role is mobile, requiring travel within a 2-hour radius, typically during the 1st shift. A company vehicle, equipment, and tools are provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $36.00/hr.
