Job Summary:
The Supervisor of Emergency Management is responsible for creating emergency management plans, encompassing the five phases of emergency management: prevention, mitigation, preparation, response and recovery. Manage and coordinate all emergency management training and exercises, set-up and maintain Emergency Operations Command Center and create strategic relationships with community, industry, organization and government agencies. Maintain accurate records and bookkeeping to ensure compliance with Emergency Management Standards
Essential Functions:
+ Provides support to facilities with emergency preparedness efforts. This includes but is not limited to developing plans and procedures, planning & presenting training and exercises, writing reports, drills, documentation, and representing the organization at preparedness meetings at local, regional and state levels.
+ Ensures that all regulatory entities' guidelines for Emergency Management standards are communicated, understood and met. Demonstrates the ability to teach skills related to emergency management and manage a classroom setting
+ Collaborates with area healthcare entities, local public safety departments and planning committees as emergency management situations / disasters arise
+ Coordinates all emergency management activities, including the Emergency Management Committee and any other committee assigned by the Supervisor/Manager/Chief of Police/Director of Protective Services or designee
+ Improves, standardizes, and coordinates practices. Ensure policies and procedures are current. Recognizes and reports potential safety issues. Take appropriate actions to mitigate issues
+ Complies with and updates existing and future contractual memorandums of understanding

Education:
+ High school diploma or GED (required)
+ Associates degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, or related field (required)
+ Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, or related field (preferred)
Required Licensing & Certifications:
+ Valid driver’s license (required)
+ Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional (CHEP) (preferred)
Experience:
+ 3-5 years of experience in emergency management (required)
Skills & Abilities:

+ Analyzing data or information
+ Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams
+ Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, NFPA, IAHSS, ASIS, among others.

Training:
+ Completion of NIMS courses: IS 100, 200, 700 & 800 (required)
+ IS 300, 400 (preferred)
+ Hospital Emergency Response Team training or Instructor Training (preferred)
+ Incident Command System (ICS) Instructor Training (preferred)
+ Business Continuity Training or Certification (preferred)
+ Public Information Officer Training or Certification (preferred)
+ Emergency Operations Center Training (FEMA 191, etc.) (preferred)
