    Position Summary

    This position is responsible for supervising professional employees in the administration of the Region, Developmental Disabilities Program, and for providing technical assistance and analysis of the program. The primary duties center around monitoring and spending the majority of time supervising, communication with, motivating, training and evaluating employees, planning and directing their work; having authority to hire, transfer, suspend, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such actions. Keeps staff informed of level of achievement on performance indicators achievement and works with other Region staff to improve performance levels. The incumbent oversees the operation of the Quality Improvement Regional Program to include Provider Enrollment, Provider Training, and serves as Provider Liaison for the Region.

     

    The Work You Will Do

     

    Assists Regional Program Administrator and/or the Quality Improvement Regional Program Supervisor in managing the Quality Improvement Regional Program. Meets assigned deadlines for ad-hoc initiatives and requested reports as assigned by management.

     

    Participation in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of service programs for persons with developmental disabilities. Oversees operations for the HCBS Waiver and General Revenue portion of the Developmental Disabilities Program as it relates to quality improvement, including Provider Enrollment, Provider Training, and Provider Liaison. Assists in the identification and resolution of Region specific problems concerning policy implementation and service delivery. Serves as back up for the Quality Improvement Regional Program Supervisor.

     

    Provides technical assistance regarding programmatic and consumer issues, and assists in interpreting rules, policies and standards.

     

    Monitors service delivery of the Developmental Disabilities Program in the Network through analysis of reports periodic case reviews, tracking systems, surveys, and interviews.

     

    Initiates and maintains open communication with community, service providers, and stakeholders. Coordinates investigations of special incidents and/or complaints regarding agency services program. Participates in workshops, training sessions, and meetings as assigned. Performs other related work as required.

     

    Performs other duties as necessary to support the Region/Field office functions, including, but not limited to, serving as back up staff for other Region staff, and duties required during an emergency as specified in the Region Emergency Plan.

    Minimum Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or its equivalent.

    + Valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation and willing to travel for work purposes.

    + Four years of related professional experience.

     

    Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

    Knowledge of:

    + Use Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).

    + Use APD iConnect to complete business processes.

    + Methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating staff.

    + The structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

    Ability to:

    + Demonstrate and provide responsive customer service.

    + Work with individuals with developmental disabilities.

    + Multi-task effectively.

    + Use tracking systems to monitor and complete work assignments within required timeframes.

    + Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, and the ability to prepare reports.

    Direct Deposit Program

     

    As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

     

    Background Screening Requirement

     

    It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.

    Level 2 background screening shall include, but not be limited to, fingerprinting for Statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies.

     

    Pursuant to S. 110.1127(1), Florida Statutes, this position requires a background investigation, including fingerprinting.
