Position Description
We are seeking acompassionate and skilled Teacher for the Visually Impaired to providemeaningful learning experiences that foster social, intellectual, and emotionalgrowth for students with visual impairments. This role involves organizing andimplementing individualized instructional programs that empower students todevelop the competencies and skills needed to thrive in academic and lifesettings.
Key Responsibilities
+ Design and deliver instruction tailored to the needs of visually impaired students
+ Promote student development across academic, social, and emotional domains
+ Collaborate with families, support staff, and general education teachers
+ Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all educational standards
+ Support students in building independence and confidence
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred)
+ Valid state teaching certificate (as required by state regulations)
+ One year experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (preferred)
+ Master’s Degree (preferred)
+ Current CPR certification (if applicable)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD test, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (as required by contract or state regulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
