    Special Education Teacher | $50–$55/hr Local or $2,300/week Travel | Full-Time | 36-Week Contract | Avondale, AZ

    Amergis Educational Staffing is seeking a Special Education Teacher to support a 6th–8th grade self-contained classroom in Avondale, AZ for the 2025–2026 school year. This full-time, in-person role begins September 29, 2025, and runs through May 2026, offering $50–$55/hour for local candidates or $2,300/week for travel.

    Position Overview:

    + Location: Avondale, AZ

    + Start Date: September 29, 2025

    + End Date: May 2026

    + Schedule: Monday–Friday

    + Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (40 hours/week)

    + Modality: In-person

    + Interview: Virtual or in-person (preferred)

    Classroom Details:

    + Grade Level: 6th–8th

    + Caseload: 10 students

    + Classroom Support: Paraprofessionals

    + Setting: Self-contained special education

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Provide specialized instruction and support for middle school students

    + Collaborate with general education staff and participate in student program planning

    + Deliver tutorial assistance and consult with support staff

    + Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines

    Minimum Requirements:

    + Valid Arizona teaching certificate (ALT and Sub certs not accepted)

    + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (preferred)

    + State Teacher Certification: Standard Elementary, Secondary, or Special Teaching (preferred)

    + Endorsement: Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) preferred

    + Minimum one year of teaching experience (preferred)

    + CPR certification, TB clearance, and health certificate as applicable

    + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

    + Must be at least 18 years of age
